Rachel Skiffer ‘88

At Burke's, Rachel serves at-large on the Executive Committee and serves on the Audit and Risk Committee.
 
Rachel Skiffer ‘88 currently serves as the head of school at Head- Royce School in Oakland. Previously, she lead the Khan Lab School (KLS) in Mountain View, California, an independent school affiliated with Khan Academy that provides a full-year, mixed-age program without the encumbrance of letter grades for students ages 5-18+. Prior to KLS, Rachel was the Dean of Policy & Strategic Planning at Phillips Academy in Andover, MA, and has also worked in admissions and financial aid at San Francisco University High School, the Latin School of Chicago, and Harvard College. Before her work in education, Rachel spent time as a management consultant and a commercial real estate attorney with firms in Chicago and San Francisco.
 
Rachel holds degrees in women’s studies and law from Harvard and lives in the Bay Area with her husband and their two young children.
