We invite you to explore our site to learn more about our community. When asked, our faculty repeatedly say that their favorite things about working at Burke's are the supportive community and commitment to professional development that allows them to continue to learn and challenge themselves as educators.
Burke’s is an independent K-8
gender-inclusive all-girls school located on a 3.5-acre campus in the Richmond/Sea Cliff neighborhood of San Francisco. Our mission is to educate, encourage, and empower girls. Our school combines
academic excellence with an appreciation for childhood so that students thrive as learners, develop a strong sense of self, contribute to community, and fulfill their potential, now and throughout life. Based on more than 100 years of educational excellence, Burke’s today is one of California’s leading K-8 schools combining strong academic and co-curricular programs with an emphasis on personal growth in a
diverse and inclusive community.
With 65% open space, our
expansive outdoor campus is unsurpassed in the city. In addition, Burke’s is surrounded by open land that teachers regularly integrate into their teaching, including Lincoln Park, Land’s End trail, and China Beach. Our accomplished faculty members take full advantage of our outdoor setting and wide-open spaces to foster the learning, well-being, and social development of our students.
