Tour Dates

Get a fresh start on your admissions journey and discover Burke's by joining us for a Spring Tour!
 
Spring Tours offer an introduction to our campus, educational philosophy, and the joyful community at Burke’s. These tours are designed for families considering applying for the 2026-27 school year.
 
Our Spring Tours are 10 - 11 a.m. and are offered on the dates below:

Application Deadlines

We are now accepting inquiries for the 2025-26 school year, and will reach out with tour information at the beginning of September. You can begin your process by inquiring here.

September-January: Sign up for a tour. We highly recommend coming on a tour and attending our Curriculum Preview (November 9, 2024).

January 12, 2025 — Application Deadline 
Kindergarten and transfer student applications are due on this date. Application fees are non-refundable. If our application fee is a financial burden for your family, please contact us at admissions@burkes.org to request a fee waiver.

Wednesday, January 31, 2025 — Collaborative Tuition Application Deadline

Thursday, March 20, 2025 — Admissions Decisions Sent Electronically at 12 p.m. Parents and guardians will have a week to contemplate their decision and share it with the school.

  • Tour & Event Registration Opens

    September-January

    Tour dates will open on August 21, 2024.

  • Curriculum Preview

    November 9, 2024
    10 a.m. - 1 p.m.

    Take a deep dive into Burke's curriculum and meet faculty across grade levels. You will also have the opportunity to connect with Burke’s students, parents, and alumnae. Topics include Kindergarten 101, Lower and Upper School Science and Math, Makery Mindset, Creating a Sense of Belonging, Social-Emotional Learning, Library, and an Alumnae Panel.

  • Collaborative Tuition Workshop

    December 2, 2024
    5:30 - 6:30 p.m. (via Zoom)
    A workshop to help expand access to families and increase socioeconomic diversity within the school community. With the understanding that all families are making some level of sacrifice to afford an independent school education for their children, Burke’s endeavors to ensure that Collaborative Tuition awarding is fair and accessible to all students in need.

  • Kindergarten Screenings

    January 

    In-person, one-on-one assessment kindergarten screenings, are required for all kindergarten applicants. These assessments help us get a sense of your daughter’s kindergarten readiness. Registration appointments will be open to applicants starting in December.

  • Kindergarten Playdates

    January

    Kindergarten Playdates give us the opportunity to get to know your daughter in small group and classroom settings. While your daughter participates in fun activities with other children and teachers, we will also offer special programming for parents.

    If you feel your daughter would be more comfortable in a familiar setting, we can also arrange a visit to her preschool. Please reach out to admissions@burkes.org to let us know.

  • MOSAIC

    December 12, 2024
    5:30 - 7 p.m.
    MOSAIC, our admissions event dedicated for families of color, LGBTQ+ families, and adoptive families to meet current Burke's families who identify with similar backgrounds.

  • Upper School Shadow Days

    Late January - Early February

    Upper School Shadow Days take place in January and early February. Students applying to grades 5-7 in Upper School are invited to campus to participate in a regular school day and all its activities. Your daughter will also have a brief academic assessment during her visit.

  • Lower School Shadow Days

    Late January - Early February

    Applicants to grades 3-4 are invited to campus to join a classroom for a regular school day and participate in all its activities. Your daughter will have a brief academic assessment during her visit.

    Applicants to grades 1-2 are not required to have a Shadow Day but will be invited to campus in January-February to take part in an academic assessment only.
