Get ready for a summer of excitement, creativity, and hands-on learning at Camp Vida! Our camp's
immersive, project-based curriculum sparks curiosity and encourages kids to think outside the box. Campers will dive into the Eco-Innovation Challenge, where they’ll design eco-friendly tools and learn sustainability and engineering. They’ll also unleash their artistic side by creating stunning outdoor installations made from natural materials, blending creativity with environmental awareness. Leadership takes center stage as kids work together on community-impact projects, solving real-world challenges like improving parks or spreading conservation awareness. Every activity is designed to engage children of all skill levels, ensuring everyone thrives, collaborates, and has a blast!

HSPT PREPARATION | August 4-8

Prepare for the HSPT (High School Placement Test)! Learn the format, timing, scoring, and content of the HSPT. Students will become familiar with the Verbal, Quantitative, Reading, Mathematics, and Language sections. We will practice test-taking strategies, master content, learn when to guess, and improve our outcomes on the HSPT.
Jess Goldstein, a high school math teacher at the Bay School and former Burke’s Upper School Math Specialist, has over a decade of classroom teaching and test-prep experience. She’s taught test prep independently and with organizations in Portland, Minneapolis, Hawaii, and San Francisco. She ran the SSAT prep course at Presidio Hill and taught SSAT and HSPT summer camps at Burke’s in 2023. She is excited to work with Burke’s students who want to learn the tricks of the tests!
PUZZLE QUEST SUMMER CAMP | August 4-8

For the student who loves a challenge and can’t stop doing the Wordle: Puzzle Quest Summer Camp! This camp is an exciting and hands-on exploration of the logic and strategies behind some of their favorite puzzles. Campers will develop and strengthen their problem-solving and pattern-recognition skills by working on jigsaw puzzles, sudokus, kenkens, brainteasers, logic puzzles, crosswords, and more!
When she’s not teaching high school math at the Bay School, Jess Goldstein often solves or creates puzzles. She loved puzzles and games from a young age and enjoys finding new challenges to try and share with her students. She has published crosswords in The New York Times, The Atlantic, USA Today, Universal, and more. She writes a monthly crossword for the local paper, The Richmond Review, and once worked at Burke’s as a math specialist!
SPORTS CLINICS: VOLLEYBALL | August 4-8

The volleyball session will cover skills such as passing, setting, hitting, blocking, and serving and game tactics such as rotations, switching, tipping, quick set attack, back set attack, and defensive coverage.
This camp is taught by Ashling Bryant, Burke’s Athletic Director, in conjunction with Burke’s coaches and alumnae.
SPORTS CLINIC: BASKETBALL | August 11-14

Grades: 6-8 (Open to Burke’s Students)

This camp is for Burke’s Students only. This is a FOUR day camp, Mon-Thurs.
The basketball session will cover skills such as dribbling, passing, shooting, rebounding, and defensive positioning, and movement and game tactics such as pressing, breaking the press, half-court offensive sets and defensive formations, running the break and secondary break, and transitional play. This camp is taught by Ashling Bryant, Burke’s Athletic Director, in conjunction with Burke’s coaches and alumnae.

Gather with others who appreciate the beauty of beading while making friends and friendship bracelets! This camp focuses on the skills of bead stringing and crimping and provides opportunities to learn creative pattern-making techniques. A vibrant selection of beads and findings inspires campers to wear and share! Our supportive instructors encourage creative teamwork and foster a welcoming environment where belonging and friendships are nurtured.
Our curriculum is designed to ignite children’s creativity and imagination by teaching them essential jewelry-making skills.
